Responding to the government's call, Seagull Housing Industry has launched a second round of "carbon neutrality" training.
Background:
At the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2020, China proposed “striving to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and making efforts to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.” In January 2021, at the People’s Bank of China’s work conference, it was stated for the first time that “we must implement the major decisions and deployments on peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, and improve the green finance policy framework and incentive mechanisms.”
August 8 Carbon Neutrality Training
To steadily advance the “carbon neutrality” project and thoroughly implement all requirements related to “peak carbon and carbon neutrality,” while adhering to the goal of building a green enterprise, Haigou Zhugong held its second “carbon neutrality” training session on August 8. Participants from the Panyu plant, Zhuhai plant, Beiao plant, Vietnam plant, Guozhi Siwei, and Champion Tiles totaled 118 people.
Before the training began, Deputy General Manager Zhou delivered an opening address, emphasizing that Seagull Housing has been consistently committed to implementing "carbon neutrality" projects and highlighting the importance of this training session.

· Each unit will conduct learning through online video conferences.
Before the training began, Deputy General Manager Zhou delivered an opening address, emphasizing that Seagull Housing has been consistently committed to implementing "carbon neutrality" projects and highlighting the importance of this training session.
After the opening remarks, Vice President Zhou invited Teacher Gan to take the stage and officially begin this training session. First, Teacher Gan provided an overview of the energy management system, covering topics such as the driving forces behind energy management, the energy risks faced by enterprises, fundamental energy concepts and related terminology and definitions, the distribution of basic energy management tasks, the evolution of energy management system standards, the operational model of ISO 50001:2008, the standard’s scope of application, its key features, and its compatibility with other existing systems. This helped participants gain a solid understanding of energy management and the current system framework.
Next, Teacher Chen explained the key points of ISO 14064-2018 to everyone. Starting with climate change and the major greenhouse gases (GHGs), he systematically went from basic to advanced levels, explaining in detail various types of emissions, GHG inventory classifications, the distinction between direct and indirect emissions, and providing real-world examples.
Teacher Chen provided an even more detailed explanation of various calculation methods, as well as the meanings of IPCC, GWP, Base Year, and GHG Report.
During recess, Teacher Chen patiently answered everyone’s questions.
In the afternoon, Teacher Chen explained to everyone the specific details of how to lead and organize in energy management, including detailed planning procedures, support and operational coordination among different departments, as well as knowledge and skills related to final performance evaluation and internal audits of the energy management system. She further illustrated with data tables how to aggregate data and track energy management metrics, and emphasized the importance of keeping this information updated promptly.
After the course concludes, Teacher Chen will head to the Seagull Zhuhai plant to conduct an on-site inspection of various equipment and energy usage conditions within the facility, followed by a detailed analysis. In the future, Seagull Residential will continue its "carbon neutrality" initiative with unwavering commitment, striving to make its contribution to environmental protection!
