In response to the national goal of "reaching peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060," and to promote the comprehensive and effective implementation of measures to address the global greenhouse effect and climate warming, on July 3, 2021, Seagull Housing & Construction specially engaged the Rhine Consulting team to guide Seagull Group in advancing and achieving its carbon neutrality goals, thereby aligning with the principles of green production and energy conservation and environmental protection.
The launch ceremony of this carbon neutrality project brought together a total of 144 mid- and high-level leaders and department heads from the Seagull Group. Attendees included representatives from the Panyu plant, the Zhuhai plant, the Beiou Factory, the Vietnam factory, Factory M, Jacopo, Champion Tiles, Guozhi Siwei, Qingdao Furunda, Youchaoshi, and other units. The purpose of the event is to enable each unit to take on the Group’s carbon neutrality project, fully implement it, and achieve the set goals.

All units will participate via online video conferencing.
At the signing ceremony, Deputy General Manager Zhou Songzhu delivered the opening remarks and briefly explained in his speech that achieving "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" is an intrinsic requirement for China's sustainable and high-quality development, as well as an inevitable choice for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Therefore, Seagull also needs to ground itself in the new stage of development and steadily advance its "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" initiatives.

Subsequently, General Manager Guo Minjian delivered a speech on behalf of President Wang of the Group, citing the unprecedented heatwave that swept across the West Coast of North America last weekend. Climate change and rising temperatures represent the greatest challenge currently facing the world—and they are closely linked to each of us. Against this backdrop, Seagull has actively responded to the government’s national policy goals of “reaching peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.” We have made preparations ahead of time to make positive contributions toward slowing down the global greenhouse effect and safeguarding our ecological environment. This year, Seagull Housing Industry’s key projects include establishing, certifying, and effectively operating carbon verification (ISO 14064) and an energy management system (ISO 50001), laying the groundwork for setting scientifically sound carbon targets for Seagull in the future and for managing energy conservation and carbon reduction throughout our supply chain.

Through the presentation of specific examples and an overview of future plans, General Guo highlighted the importance and necessity of launching carbon neutrality projects, and then signed an agreement with the Rhine Consulting team to kick off the implementation of the carbon neutrality initiative.
